رجال لا تلهيهم تجارة ولا بيع عن ذكر الله وإقام الصلاة وإِيتاء الزكاة

Men whom neither trade nor sale diverts from the Remembrance of Allah nor from performing Salah nor from giving the Zakah

People who do not let the worldly life divert them from their ultimate priority – their Ibaadaah – worshiping Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala. 1) Remembering Allah 2) Praying 3) Giving Charity! They give priority to obeying Allah and doing what He wants and what pleases Him over doing what they want and what pleases them. Those are people who put Allah azzawajal first and allow nothing of this world to intercept their relationship with Him!

And why is this? Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala says:

يخافون يوما تتقلب فيه القلوب والأبصار

They fear a Day when hearts and eyes will be overturned!!

Overturned by what? The horror of that Day! Yawmul Qiyamah, Yawmul Hisaab, Yawmi Deen! The Day of Resurrection when people’s hearts and eyes will be overturned, because of the intensity of the fear and terror of that Day! They fear this day, and strive for the akhirah and are not distracted by the affairs of the dunya!

In the next ayah Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala says:

ليجزيهم الله أحسن ما عملوا ويزيدهم من فضله

That Allah may reward them according to the best of their deeds, and add even more for them out of His Grace!

SubhanaAllah! Meaning, “They are those from whom We shall accept the best of their deeds and overlook their evil deeds.” Because these people make Allah a priority and put Him first, and look how Allah has honoured them! He honours them by multiplying their deeds and granting them even more than they think! Allahu Akbar!

And listen how Allah ends this ayah subhanaAllah!

والله يرزق من يشاء بغير حساب

And Allah provides without measure to whom He wills.

SubhanaAllah! Look how this all ties together, where Allah is reminding us that He is Ar-Razzaq, Allah is the Provider, Allah is the Sustainer, and from Him comes our provision! And He increases it for whom He wills and decreases it for whom He wills! And ironically, people choose to ignore the remembrance of Allah and salah for this worldly life, for trade & sales, for work and they fail to remember that Allah is the PROVIDER! He is the One giving us our Rizq! SubhanaAllah, how foolish is a man!

When you are at work and the time for prayer comes, hasten to it. When you are immersed with school and life and the time for prayer comes, hasten to it! Keep your tongue moist with His remembrance while you tarry in the affairs of the dunya. Don’t let your wealth divert you and make you heavy-handed from giving zakah. Fear the Day of Judgement and hope for His reward! May He make us of those mentioned in the ayaat where He will increase our deeds for us!
